It works but not fast
I bought this because my beloved hot pot that I've had for decades finally died. I did a side by side test of this one and a pan on the stovetop. I turned this to max heat and heated equal amounts of water in it and in a covered pot on the stove top. The hot pot boiled water only 4 minutes faster. It is smaller than my old one and very limited in volume whereas the pan on the stove isn't. There's no reason to keep and store this and it's parts for just 4 minutes faster. I so wish I could get another of my old hot pot.
