Jumeirah Beach Walk (better known as The Walk of JBR) is the boulevard in the Dubai Marina and is located along JBR Beach shore at the Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR). This part of the Dubai Marina is easy to recognize thanks to the many sand-colored apartment buildings. This 1.2 billion euro project was started at the beginning of this century and consists of a large number of hotels, apartments, shops and restaurants located on the beautiful beach and boulevard. The Walk is one of the most important tourist areas of Dubai and is therefore definitely recommended to visit!
During the day, but especially at night, tourists and locals come here to enjoy themselves, taste the unique atmosphere and have a bite to eat. The Walk is all about seeing and being seen that is the most important thing. Especially the locals go in the evening with their expensive cars to The Walk to drive along the full terraces step by step to be seen as much as possible. Don’t be surprised if you see the Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Bentley’s here in a traffic jam. The Walk is an ideal place for car enthusiasts to spot exclusive cars.
The Beach at JBR
Thanks to the extension of The Walk with the Beach project this area has become even more attractive to stay during the evenings. In the Beach you will find many shops and restaurants, a lot of them have a magnificent view of the beach and the Persian Gulf with the Palm Jumeirah island and the Ain Dubai, the largest Ferris wheel in the world, in the distance. Another big advantage is the parking garage that has been built under the complex, which has made the parking problem in this part of Dubai a lot smaller.
The arrival of the Dubai Tram and the promenade along the beach with public toilets, showers and changing rooms, makes this area ideal for a day at the beach. After all, you are there easily by the tram connection that also stops at the metro stops of the Dubai Marina. If you have enough of the beach you can walk straight into the shopping area or have a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants and cafes the boulevard.
Just off the coast of the Jumeirah Beach Walk they are busy with the latest prestige project of Dubai: the artificially landscaped Bluewaters Island with the giant wheel Ain Dubai. This Ferris wheel is the largest Ferris wheel in the world with its 210 meters height.
JBR beach
The JBR Beach is a quite unique beach in terms of appearance. This beautiful sandy beach has a magnificent view over the blue sea water with the buildings of Palm Jumeirah in the distance, and the Ferris wheel is just off the coast. Behind you the wall of skyscrapers of the Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residences. JBR Beach has various catering places in the The Beach section and on the boulevard there are also many dining options. If you want to take a taxi to this beach, let the taxi driver drop you off at the Hilton Jumeirah hotel, from here it is a two minute walk to the beach.

To fully enjoy this unique piece in Dubai, we have listed a number of tips for you below.
- Have an evening out on the boulevard of The Walk and enjoy a cocktail on one of the many terraces. You enjoy a delicious meal. The same time you can marvel at the luxury cars driving by and the many people strolling along the terraces.
- In terms of clothing, a lot is allowed on The Walk, but be careful do not get too sexy or show too much skin, which can be seen as provocative by the locals. Swimwear such as a bikini or only a swimsuit without a t-shirt is not allowed, it may only be worn on the sandy beach itself.
- Dogs are not allowed on The Walk. Keep this in mind when you are on holiday with your dog in Dubai.
- Also book a cruise through the Dubai Marina with a traditional dhow. For those who like more speed there are the tours with The Yellow Boats. During this trip, the boats sail past the various ports and beautiful cloud scrapers of the Dubai Marina and then continue under the bridge towards the sea. During this coastal route, you will have the opportunity to see the Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) and The Walk from a different angle.
How to get to the JBR the Beach and the Walk
The easiest way to get to The Walk is by metro or the Dubai Tram. It is best to get off at the metro station Jumeirah Lake Towers and from there continue on foot to The Walk. The metro station DAMAC Properties, formerly known as Dubai Marina, is also an option, but you have to walk further from this metro station.
Would you rather take the tram? Then it is best to take the tram at the metro station DAMAC Properties and get off at the stop Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 or Jumeirah Beach Residence 2. A taxi ride to The Walk is about 7 AED.
You can also go to The Walk by car. You can park in the parking garage which is under the The Beach section. However, in the evening on the roads to The Walk it is almost always chaos and the one-way road that runs directly along The Walk is very busy with locals who like to show their exclusive cars to the public.
